Fit, sexy, adventurous. Why say this?
I'm a Female who has been trying the dateing websites and in alot of the Guys ads they say that they are looking for a Fit, Sexy and adventurous girl but i can not figure out why they say that.
I think it's a nonesense stament that women who use it have thought that it sounds clever and put it in their profile.
What if they didn't put it in their profile, would girls then assume that what they're looking for is somebody who is unfit, uninterested in sex and boring.
And if i read this in a profile am i supposed to contemplate my navel and examine my personality , just in case i may be found wanting.
Maybe somebody who puts this in a profile should consider how it reflects on them in exactly the same terms.
{it doesnt matter what a woman puts in her profile.. she is ALWAYS going to get 100 replies from totally unsuitable chancers and nobheads
I know from personal experience that some guys will reply to anything that wears a skirt. if you say "athletic build, under 35 only, you will still get replies from 50 year old sofa surfers with huge beer bellies}

Good point. But in the same light (as the phrase goes), a closed mouth doesn't get fed. You have to admit that some dating profiles can be kinda shady, so why not just come out at state the obvious. That you want someone who is caring (= not going to admit that I am not the prettiest girl on the site, but I can at least use good english), honest (= won't tell me he likes the idea of me owning 16 cats, just so he can get me in bed), genuine (= have a picture thats current and not a "before" shot of when he was like 20)
I guess with wording on ANY online profile..you really have to just read between the lines

I get the same thing with guys who say they like to wear jeans and do things outdoors, but also can change into dress clothes and go out for a nice dinner. Or just cuddle on the couch by a cozy fire to watch a movie with someone.
Seriously. Where's the character revelation in that?
I skip right over profiles with that garbage in them. It's either a lie, or it's a sign of a creative deficiency.

While you deal with your morality, maybe you could ponder the notion that the ladies that have put this in their profile have done so because they have been burned by guys that are less than honest, caring, or genuine. It isn't to sound clever or glib. It is in fact a request that any who respond to the mentioned ads not be of the ungentlemanly quality

NewOrleansLady is looking for a way to celbrate her 30th birthday. She just turned 30, already has a baby, doesn't drink and doesn't know what to do next. She sounds nice, why don't you contact her? Her question was under other soicety and culture. Good luck!

Most girls do want a guy like that. It's not lies, just the fact that .5% of the guys out there are actually that 100% of the time, because we can't all be perfect, and some of us girls, expect them to be!

all girls say that honest, caring, genuine. But I definitely think lots of girls go out with jerks, they don't even fit the profile. Girls look for guys with confidence, funny, and a little cocky...my opinion

well i want to help you so they say that so they won't get hurt by some guy that goes on those dating websites just for hook-ups that is why they say that they do not want to be hurt so they want a
(caring)- a guy that is looking for a relationship not just a hook-up.
(honest)- tells who really is and what he is really about.
(genuine)- shows the true person not a "fronting" image.
that is what they mean... i hope i helped!!!!!!!!!!!

Your second last paragraph is exactly right.
What they don't want is a self absorbed slob who is incapable of behaving himself with the same social dexterity as a slug.
