Some foreign countries require minors under 18 to carry a letter of permission signed by both parents and notarized...so it is a good idea to have this.

Yes, many airlines, indeed most allow this. The airline may require some kind of permission from parents, which I assume is not a problem, but children and young adults under 18 fly quite regularly.

At 17 I don't think you count as minors any more. My daughter has been travelling on her own since the age of 16 with no problems. Nobody's ever asked her her age or stopped her from going.

The airlines probably don't care. You're more likely to get trouble from the resort you're going to, as some of them don't like large all male or all female parties because they're likely to get rowdy.

Most do but you will have to have an escort on most flights so get your parents to get a written statement from the airline that this person makes themselves responsible for not just your safe arrival but for the safety of your documentation and passport and that they will not leave you until you are safely through customs.
My son was 10 and returning to UK after a year in Australia his escort didn't check so his passport got lost between plane and terminal (through a tunnel!)and he was held for ages and I had to go through the most horrendous time as did he poor love and his sister with us before we were allowed to bring him home from Heathrow - what a way to treat people eh?

At 17 you are classed as an adult by the Airlines they would not question you travelling alone. Have a good holiday.

You shouldn't have any problem flying alone... just make sure that you have your passport with you.

you should have no problem flying without an adult. they let smaller (younger) children fly alone.
