I notice that no one is talking about this.

I think both borders need to be taken care of. Not just the southern border. If the issue is with terrorism then both borders should equally be monitored.

Thanks for sharing that. It's pretty darned worriesome, as is the linked article about cyber-attacks. I just wish we had a good way of guarding against such things without having to turn into pre-80's East Germany or the Soviet Union, because the countries in the past that have been extreme in their guarding against outside threats usually turn out to be countries people wouldn't want into anyway.

I read it. We do have sensors there and there is a virtual fence planned there -- no one is discussing that either. That is because by far and away the larger numbers cross on the southern border, and because the government on the other side of the border to the north works cooperatively with us to stop intrusions.

As injuries go, the northern border is a bruise and the southern is a severed artery. You don't need the same treatments for the two different injuries. However, terrorism is a real threat from the north given Canada's liberal asylum policies.

Austrailian immigration system, but with perference for Anglo, or Latino immigration. Abolished the greencard lotto for immigration, family based immigration should be based on ability to support the other family members. Require all immigrants to pay bond of 3000 dollars for a 6 month visa with fingerprints, biometric id cards. The northern border needs to be loosened up, and airport security from people overseas needs to be tighted more . Easier to screen people oversaes before they even touch in North America. Allow people in based on the job market, english skills, promixity to the Untied States, and work skills.

The reality is most of the problems effecting the states are from the southern border, hence the attention, but you do need to protect all your borders and ports.
To enter the USA without documentation is a misdemeanor, and there for illegal, twice, its a felony. All borders and ports need more people to enforce present laws.

the southern border is definitely the hot spot now and lets not forget we don't have canada's border patrol giving illegals tips on how to get into the U.S. or assisting illegals to immigrate so the northern border is being protected from both sides instead of the opposition we are getting from the southern border

ALL our borders need to be more secure, no denying that. I think people are talking more about the Mexican border because right now that is where MOST of the illegals are entering from.

Probably because the southern border is so much MORE porous. No one thinks border protection is perfect from the south or the north..but the south seems to be far more open to terrorists and other criminals. Thousands cross illegally every day.

Actually, I have considered all my responses to immigration and border questions to include all the borders. At least one of the 9/11/01 attackers came across the Northern border and numerous people have tried to bring this defect to the attention of the deaf, dumb and blind government we are forced to endure -- that is deaf, dumb and blind except when it comes to protecting illegal immigrants and taking our tax dollars and sending our best and brightest off to war.
