She is a 4 yr old spayed female. I am moving and not able to take her. She is gentle and believes she is a lap dog. She is current on all shots. She does well with adults and kids but the kids should be older roughhousing makes her to protective. She gets along with all other dogs but does not like cats. She is housebroken and loves to run and play a lot, so a larger area would be nice
She can shake hands and give a high 5
If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it a lot
Thanx

I would try the classifieds or a rescue group. Rotties do not fare well at a shelter. If you can't find a rescue then do put her in the classifieds free and interview people who show an interest. She would have little hope if she ended up at a shelter in my area, so I assume it is the same elsewhere. Large, strong breed dogs do not fare well now days in adoptions.

Find a rottie rescue in your area. Do not give the dog away free unless you already know the person. Dogs are often taken in 'free to good home' ads by wholesalers who sell these dogs to universities and other testing facilities. Do not send your dog to a shelter because large black dogs are the least likely to be adopted and would most likely be put down.

I'm sorry, but why can't you take her with you? You need to find a home that you can take her with you... Simple as that. You have had her for 4 years! Come on people when you take in an animal it's for life, not until it's not easy or fun any more. Did you know that rottweilers are mostly known as a one person dog. Think and re think this over. Try what ever way you can to take her with you. She deserves that.

just wondering why cant you bring your dog with you when you move?
anyways my suggestion is to ask friends, family, neighbors if they want her. you dont have to straight up ask them if they want her but just mention that you need to find a good home for her and see if anyone responds with wanting her.
your next step is to find a rottie rescue or a no kill shelter near you.
you can go to www.petfinder.com and look at rescues in your area. most shelters require a fee to help cover the cost of the dog.
your only other option is to advertise in newspapers on under the classifieds on petfinder.com
interview potential owners and make sure she finds the right home not just the first person willing to take her.

if you have a while to find her a home, you can keep her at your house and work with a shelter/rescue to place her in a home.

No-kill organizations are the best places, in my opinion. Volunteers will make sure to adopt dogs out into good homes and in the hands of responsible owners.

If you don't want to do that and have the time, put out add on your newspaper (making sure to ask for only those with rottweiler experience). You can also try your luck with posting adds online at puppyfind.com, nextdaypets.com, or petfinder.com.

Good luck.

type rottweiler rescue (your city and state) in your search engine and you should be able to find a rescue group that will take her. you could also ask your local shelter, ASPCA, or humane society if they have a rotty rescue group they work with. sorry you have to give up your dog, that must be really hard :(

Don't advertise her yourself, too dangerous, never know who will take her and what they will do with her.

Do a search for a Rottweiler rescue in your area and see if they will take her. Rescues take applications, do reference checks and home visits of the people applying before they o.k. them to adopt one of their dogs.

What a shame you are giving her up - sounds like a sweet dog.

i consider for you, i used to be within the equal hindrance final 12 months, fortunate ample there's a first-class puppy refuge wherein i reside. it's like wasting some of the loved ones however you must do what's first-class for the animal on the finish of the day. rotties are a first-class puppy and if you happen to deliver her to a refuge they are going to do tests and feature a common to make certain she is going to cross to a well dwelling who won't abuse her and use har for the fallacious causes.
