I heard somewhere that the increase of women in the sport is growing faster than the number of men. Does the younger drivers effect the amount of memorabilia sold to women?

Sound like the men need to be buying more for their ladies..lol

Yes Tina that is a good question..Gloria hit it totally...I'm a Dale Jr fan I have a ton of his stuff as well as Nascar stuff in general..All the young gals buy the drivers stuff that they think are cute and especially more if the driver is single... I was in one of the Nascar shops out Fontana this past Sept. there was a guy that spent over $2000 he said his wife is secretly in love with Tony Stewart, he bought several nice pieces of 14k gold jewelry, and a leather jacket.. We all spend alot, but I think overall probably the gals.

Good Question, Tina. I would bet on women spending more. With all the young women here on y/a pre-occupied with how "cute" or how "hot" their driver is, and whether or not they have a girlfriend, I would think it has a direct effect on the amount of memorabilia sold to women!

Go Jr.>>>>

I agree with Gloria, although I personally get tired of the, who's cuter cuz my hormones are raging questions, it does make an impact, especially on younger fans as far as merchandising.

Now as for us mature women I think we probably have a good collection but as far as monetary I have to give it to the men. Men will throw down $200 for a die cast car where as I just don't think women would.
I have more t-shirts and baseball caps and little collectibles than my husband, but he's the one who has the $50 Jack Daniel Flask, the $150 bar mirror, the die cast cars, so money wise he spends more than I would.

I would have to say women. I buy things that I like. It shows my support for my favorite driver. I love NASCAR!!! If my favorite driver (Kasey Kahne) isn't doing well, I still route for him proudly wearing my Kasey T-shirt and ball cap.

Go Kasey Go!!!!!
