It's just the way things sound - it's a lot easier to say black and white than it is white and black. It sounds like it flows better in a sense.

The term 'black and white is alphabet. Mac and cheese...well, you wouldn't call it cheese and mac...think about it.

Black starts with "b", it's more natural to alphabetically order lists. Also print is more noticeably black on white...
