The wellbutrin does control moodswing at times off and on. I am really concerned with my Social Anxiety since I work in a group setting at work and will be starting school at night in two weeks and I am sure will be required to make Oral Presentations. Maybe you need talk therapy along with prescriptions. Pills won't cure all your problems.

Hi. If your anxiety medication isn't working, then tell your doctor, go off it and try something else. I may be wrong, but I've always felt that Wellbutrin is rarely prescribed for anxiety, as there are so many better drugs to deal with it. Wellbutrin is best known for smoking cessation.
You might want to try a different anxiety medication along with hypnotherapy. Hypnosis is safe and effective, although not everything works for everyone all the time. A good example is Wellbutrin. It's not working for you, so hypnosis might not either. But think what a positive change it could make in your life if it does work.

Not Booze whoever said that one is a jackass. I also take Wellbutrin. However, I have bad anxiety and have for many years, Talk to your Dr. Xanax works well that is what works for me and has for many years. You just need a low dose I take the middle dose. And people will say they are so addicting which they are but so is anything you have to be dependent on. My Dr. has already told and my Therapist I will most likely be on an anti-depressant and anxiety meds forever. My motto is it works why break it.

Xanax is good. It tends to make you tired though, so a low dose would be best if you're socializing or working. It really helps though. Although I believe it's usually for acute anxiety...not generalized anxiety. Talk to the Dr that prescribed the Wellbutrin. they should be able to offer you something else if that isn't doing the trick

If your anti-depressant isn't working very well for you, then why haven't you discussed it with your doctor? He can help by changing doseage or the medication. It's your body, so you really need to touch base with the doctor about how the meds are working (or not).

Discuss your anxiety issues with the doctor, for more help

There are many good medications on the market; however, just because one works well for me, doesn't mean it is going to be as helpful for you, hon. We are all different... take care ok?
