When I was younger they used to call them 6 year beds (and cribs too) so I would say 6, unless they've become too tall and the bed is uncomfortable.

A 5 year old is too old for a toddler bed. My daughter will we 4 next month. She has always been on the small side for height and weight. She is currently using a toddler bed but is quickly growing out of it. I am actively looking into a twin size bed for her within the year.

As long as they fit on it. In our house we are short on rooms, we have three kids and 1 room for them all. Because of this my husband built some custome bunk beds and they are wide enough for toddler beds only.
We are in the process of adding on more rooms, but my oldest is 7, then 6, then 3. They are each on a toddler size mattress. And sleep just fine. We are going to have to figure something else for my oldest cause she will be outgrowing the toddler bed. (too tall for it)
You just have to make due with what you have and with what you can afford!

There never too old until they cant fit in it or dont want to be in it anymore, because its not really a comfort thing they may love it but once you tell them they can have a big kid bed they'll be really excited.
My little brother WANTED a big kid bed when he was 4 :)
But you should, just make sure to let him know you want him to get a big kid bed eventually before he does get too big for it because that happend to my lil cousin.. :/ lol she was a big sister though so i understand.

whenever it isn't comfortable for that child anymore. that could be anywhere from 4 to 6 or 7. Its not really an age thing. Just what is comfortable & whatever the child (& parents) prefer.

I would say anywhere between 4-6. Depends if the child is too big physically for it or not.
good luck!

I would say 4 or 5, when they can no longer sleep in it.

When they get too big for it. As long as they can fit and sleep on it comfortably, then it's fine.
