More specifically, what are some ways in which your life has improved as you've gotten older? In what ways are you different, and how has this been a positive thing for your life? What do you know now that you didn't before that has made your life better?

Ah, Lydia, I'm still 36 for another 12 days, and I intend to moan for all twelve of them! ;)

My body hair and facial hair grow quicker. When I'm a bit older I can shave my face one day, and have a beard again by the end of the week. Or if I'm forced to shave my body so I can get tattoos, it'll grow back fast. From experience I'll have lots of knowledge and wisdom and be able to help younger LGBT people more effectively. I'll have an even greater perspective on what good music still exists out there. Maybe I'll find great inspiration somewhere that'll spark unyielding motivation in myself.

I have grown and matured. As a result I have settled into a very comfortable life. I am happily married, I own my house, I have a good job and I am saving for a very comfortable retirement. My early life was very turbulent and troublesome. I am not going to go into specific details about why, but I will say that my life didn't really begin until I was thirty and it has only gotten better since. In case you are curious I am 43 now. Getting old may seem like a curse at times, but always try to remember these 2 things. Life is what you make of it and every minute could be your last so live them all to the fullest extent possible.

I feel uniquely qualified to answer this question. On Monday, October 1, I will turn 60 years old. What I've learned:
1) Growing older is liberating! I no longer stress about what other people think of me.
2) I've learned that, as Tom Petty said, most things you worry about never happen anyway.
3) I've become much more confident and assured about myself.
4) Believe it or not, sex is so much better now than it ever was!
5) I have a wisdom that I never had when I was younger.
I could go on, but you get the point....Growing old is not for sissies!

My life has improved in several ways...for starters, I am much more defined as an individual, though still open to changes, which will take place when they should.
My tastes are more diverse, am a much happier person (the drugs help), enjoy the little things, not moving too fast (as aging will prevent that anyways), am friendlier (for fear of being beat up by younger kids) and much more tolerable than I was in my twenties, he he.
36?! Come on! ;-)
Happy early birthday darling.

Jack, good to see you! Where've you been? Please don't tell me you got suspended?!
Anyway, to answer your question, there are several things I love about getting older:
1. All the insecurities of my teenage years and early twenties are pretty much gone. I couldn't care less if I look like a supermodel or not.
2. I've outgrown the "drama," and my life is much calmer now.
3. I'm more laidback. Things just don't bother me like they used to.
4. I actually value what my mom has to say now...and I've found...you know, she's a pretty smart lady. At least, as far as life experience goes. I've read more than she has, though.
5. I know that the most important things in life are family, friendship, a sense of humor, and a good personality. Looks will fade, money can run out...but if we hang on to the rest, we'll have a good life.

Gosh.. this is tough.
I guess I feel like I'll always miss the naivity and lack of responsibility involved in being a child.
I think - if nothing else, getting older comes with knowledge, which is nice, but not always good. I think as I've gotten older I've become more jaded and cynical - especially about human nature and love/relationships.
But.. I have money now, I've got a great family, great friends, and lots of warm fuzzy animals that I was never allowed to have growing up so that doesn't suck, either. :)

I tend to enjoy some of the simpler things in life...and I have more money. Other than that getting old kinda sucks. Old friends are too busy to tear it up on the weekends, owning a home requires more of your spare time, as does family...
Even worse, some of the guys I used to get crazy with are now in college. When I go visit, I feel like "The Godfather" from Old School.

i've learnt to be more accepting of myself and of others. i realize that my script for how the world SHOULD function is not necesserily the right one for the world, and am now concentrating on the script for my own life and my interactions with those around me.
i realize that there are things i could do when i was 27 or 37 but cannot do now, but there are also things i've learnt to do which i couldnt do then...
and happy pre birthday jack, you're still HAWT :)
i've learnt love and companionship
and i've learnt that every day you age is better than the alternative of being frozen in groundhog day or in death.
