i couldn't agree with you more. i have 4 children from my husband who is also my first cousin. all of them are thriving. they only have minimal "issues", and nothing too serious to deal with. we've taught them to stand up for themselves at school when teased, and they do - every day!

you go girl!

Hold on. Im a little confused. I thought you were married and had kids and you were a firm believer in Christ?

Morally it's just wrong. You shouldnt do it. There are a million other people out there. Im sorry but I generally try to be very open minded but I dont know if I could accept that if I was your parents. I could be friends with someone who is in your situation, but that would be extreamly hard to swallow.

Im sorry honey, Im gonna have to agree with your parents and I dont mean to hurt your feelings. However I do wish you the best of luck with your child and marriage.

You have the same gene pool. It goes against the principle of family. Your parents are the offspring of the same 2 people. The only thing seperating you from being brother and sister is one generation. Think about it, your grandparents are the same-then came your parents-and now you want to marry someone so close in blood?

You are already in violation of law if a child is on the way.

One of his parents is one your parent's siblings!!!!

Yikes. It has NOT been considered OK as far as science goes. Too much to type, though.

I guess love is what you make of it, though. I'm glad you're content with that. It looks like a long legal road ahead. I'm very picky. Perhaps that is why I'm 25 and never been on a date. Or maybe I'm just ugly.

Higher than normal possibility of your kids getting hereditary diseases, plus if y'all divorce, you'll still have to deal with each other's in-laws.

It is legal in half the states in America, and the status is transferable in the other half, but there is an "ick" factor, as you see. I would advise the kids to be quiet about it.

But hey, no arguments about where you'll spend Thanksgiving! :-)

If you've dated for 3 years, why are they just now piping up?
This sort of question is getting asked at an alarming rate!

Do you really want to be considered a trashy redneck? Let's think about this one for a minute......I don't care what science says, it's not ok to be married to or have kids with your 1st cousin....that's just not even right.
