To boot the computer in Safe Mode, turn it on and immediately begin to press and release the F8 key. There is a two secont spot in which you have to hit the key, so repeatedly pressing it is the easiest way to caught that window.

Eventually it should bring up a screen that offers you "safe Mode" as option. Select it and let the computer boot. It will display some text and things you do not normally see - that is OK. Also, once it gets into Windows everything may look larger then normal. Again, that is OK.

Once loaded, go to the Start Menu, and under Accessories you will find a System Tools listing. Under that will be a System Restore selection. Click on it.

It should open a calendar that shows all the restor points to which you can revert the PC. Hopefully you will have one from the time period to which you want to restore it.

After the restore, simply reboot the computer to return to "normal" mode.
