He likes it there, and wants all the anti-Christians with him there so he can torture them in fire and brimstone. Ye-ow! And Cerberus will never let you leave. That's the three-headed dog guarding the front gate.

He draws pleasure from it. The more he enslaves, the more glorious will be God's triumph. Satan needs participants for the upcoming fight. God is affording Satan that in order to extol His holiness when He defeats Satan. God's glory can only be comprehended by fleshy minds by having something to compare to. Satan's only hope of avoiding total destruction is winning. And that can only happen through lethargy.

I'm confused by your question as Satan is already in hell from what I understand (it's his domain).
Essentially, Satan represents a line of thining that differs from God's loving message so greatly that he is the epitome of evil.
Satan represents everything that Christians are against.
People are quick to call others Satan or followers of Satan but that's b/c Satan is more a belief with form than a solid being who does things.

Your question points out one of the infinite number of gigantic contradictions that have to exist when people use their emotions, in this case faith, to go to war against reason and reality. Apparently, there are two supernatural entities. One is all love, peace and goodness, God; the other is all wickeness, brutality, violence and evil, Satan. It seems to me that BOTH enjoy absolute freedom from suffering: one enjoys doing good, the other enjoys being evil.
Is creation just a war theatre where the Prince of Peace and the Master of Evil fight each other using us, poor mortals, as their pawns? Where is the so much talked about omnipotence of God? Is it temporarely suspended for a few eons so that God can have something to entertain himself before he must inevitably win over Satan and ban him forever from his creation?

Perhaps he thinks if he can accuse everybody of being rebellious, God by his compassionate nature will refrain from sending everyone to hell, a place originally only made for demons. Satan is making God chose between compassion and being righteous.

Satan isn't human. He is a demon. Technically, he doesn't "go to hell" He just coerces humans to make the mistakes that cause them to go to hell. He, himself, is not confined there.

I thought he was already in hell? Ironically enough isn't he actually serving god by punishing "sinners"? Sounds like a guy that was given a nasty job and has been scapegoated to me.
