I believe the cake rise-if you read the box...the climate and the altitude or sea level affects the rise of a cake.

Yup, I just pulled out my box of Pillsbury Moist Supreme Classic White cake box and it reads in fine print for HIGHER altitude, to add 1/4 cup of flour to make the adjustment for it to come out right.

Apparently it has something to do with the altitude and temperatures that make cakes rise.
A warmish room temperature to us in the UK would be a hot temperature in most parts of USA
