If varies for different people. People who have c sections stop faster. Within 6 weeks you should have totally stopped. Congrats on the new baby!

I would talk with your obgyn. I had a third degree episiotomy and bled for 4 weeks afterwards. When I went in for my check-up my doctor was really rough and rude with me and told me that I should've come in sooner. That I wasn't supposed to bleed that long and that I had an infection. I don't think you should ask other people this question and you should talk to your doctor about it. Some amount of bleeding will be normal but maybe it's not normal for you. I hope this is not the case for you though.

Bleeding only on and off?! You're lucky. With my first birth, I bled right up until 5 days before my 6 week appointment, with my second birth it lasted 3 weeks. It'll stop when it wants to, sorry.

When the place the placenta was attached to has healed and everything is out. I bled for almost 3 months because a piece of placenta was still in me and had to work it's way out.

It can take about 6 weeks for you to stop bleeding. Remember, your body is basically flushing itself out... so it takes some time.

6- 8 weeks. For that time...always use some sort of protection. I went like 4 days with nothing...and then...whammo! Ugh! I sympathize with you...

Have you seen a doctor about this?? Sounds to me like you could be anemic. I've never heard of anyone bleeding for that long after giving birth. My suggestion is to go see your doctor..just in case!
