This happened to me at prom.MY friends just asked me to go anyways,They told me even though they had dates, they wouldn't be too busy.We had a great nite.they might get upset a few times during the nite. But promise them that when they look back on it,they are going to be grateful for such an amazing friend!

Well I know how you feel about this. lol. But here are a few things you could do: you could assure her that she will not be the only person there without a date. You could find someone to go with her. Or you could invite someone to go with ya'll that doesnt have a date either that way she will not be the only person IN THE CAR that doesnt have a date.

Your friend is being stubborn. I see no reason they cant go to the drive in with everyone else. If they want to pout about it thats their choice. Invite the friend along and leave it at that. They are choosing not to go and do not need comforting.

Just tell your friend that you'll hangout with her/him. Just make sure you give your friend the attention. Tell your date the whole situation about you and your friend hanging out here and there during homecoming.
Just balance both of them. I mean it's not like it's your last dance with your date.

Tell him/her that the movie will probably suck, and will be expensive, as will the food at the drive-in, so he/she isn't really missing much.
