It's not compulsory, but it helps. "I accept Jesus" is a great get-out-of-jail-free card; just say to right things in church on Sunday then lie, hurt and manipulate Monday through Saturday.

Pretty much everyone is two faced/hypocritical. We have standards/norms/ethics/morals, and we don't live up to them.
