Like do I go to a hospital or is there a special center for this.?Do I need to find out if I match someone to be able to donate? About how much does it cost, and how much time will it take? I already know its a quite uncomfortable procedure.

you need to be tested first to see if you are a match for someone. this takes a simple blood test and you are automatically added to the national registry. you will stay in the registry list and if a match is found for the compatible host you will be notified. then you will actually donate the bone marrow. but they dont collect it until a person is found to be a match with someone who needs it.

you can't just go to a hospital and donate bone marow like how you donate blood. first you sign up to be a marrow donor. when you sign up they prick your finger to get some blood samples. When you become a match to someone you get a call. It doesn't cost hte donor anything, everything is covered by the receipients insurance. They told be if I ever become a match the procedure will take about 2 hours.
