First off I drive a 2003 camry 4 door. that said, my friend gave me an idea to put 10's into my back doors. They'd be set up like the in door speakers in the front. Anyway, I think that this would be a bad *** idea, and I want to know what I will have to do. I know I need an amp and all that, but I want to know how to get the holes cut or whatever. Any help would be nice!

WOW you people just can not think out side of the box, its not a "STUPID idea" or the dumb think you ever heard. First you would have to most likely fix the window in one spot the sub is going to need that room and will keep the rattles down, then you need to weld some thing to the door that could hold a speaker, then with wood or better fiber glass seal the door up and hope that you have the right amount of air space.

But really if you have to ask here your not going to be able to do it your self. And yes I have seen this done in a 84 Chevy Caprice but that car is built better than yours and it really did not sound that good and saddly he could only hit 117 db with the 2 10"

i wouldn't do that if i were you for starters you wouldn't be able to roll down the windows anymore, 2nd your speakers would get wet when it rained etc. doors aren't water proof there is a plastic liner under the door panel on the inside that keeps water, dust, etc. from getting into the car.
if you want to do this anyway take the door panels off and measure to make sure your door is thick enough to accomodate the speaker. if so then locate where in the door you want the speaker make sure you are going to clear the window rails on the inside of the door and the window motor and gear box mark whole and cut it out with like a jig saw or rotozip with metal blade.

10's are too big, you may have the surface area but you will not have the volume or cu/ft. without the proper size it will sound like butt. and even if you could, because the door moves and is hinged ect.. it is not very rigid, and therfor it would rattle way to much, even f you pulled a rabit out of you butt and made it fit... if you want something back there thats cool check out this 6 1/2" sub, it handles 200 watts, and sounds pretty damn good. hits as low as 20hz.. still may have a ratlle issue though, would need lots of dynamate. it is also small enough to put under the seat....

the sub -

Not a good idea...I've had 10's 12's I have L7's now and I would never put subs in a car door. Subs need a box either ported or non ported depending on the wattage of your subs. It would sound terrible. I'd go with a non ported box.

It's a STUPID idea, and will sound like crap. (no bass)

It needs to be in a sealed, or properly ported, properly sized box.
