probably never. That's like asking what decade will mathematics become extinct. Even in the dark ages, the sciences were still being studied. So I'm guessing when humanity perishes maybe then, but a theologian might respond by saying that since religion is the essence of truth, and since truth never becomes extinct, the answer to your question is never.

I'm becoming something of a pessimistic atheist when it comes to the fate of mankind. I see our technology progressingly steadily but with a majority carrying on a bronze-age myth which has so little true morality in it and admonishes faith over reason and logic - I really wonder if mankind will go extinct before religion.
If only the intelligent survived - or hell, if some new Hitler came along and killed everyone with an iq below - whatever (yes I know, eugenics is terrible im not condoning it) then religion would die off pretty fast, but of course. Of course the 'smart' ones would have surrendered the ethical highground forever.

Go study past cultures that couldn't wait and tried to make religion extinct and see who always survived

Extinction presupposes the elimination of anyone or anything that will promote it. This would be a huge undertaking but if there are any volunteers, let me know.

I think that religion will become extinct once all of the stupid people stop breading. Then survival of the fittest and most intelligent will have finaly played itself out.
it will take around 1 thousand years before christianity is as unheard of as the Greek Mythology.

I really hope so, I hope religion dies tomorrow then Jesus can be seen for the glorious God he really is, instead of all these silly little rituals churches make people do in order feel righteous or close to God.......it really is ridiculous. Good question, I'm sure a lot of other Christians will agree :-)

Religion meaning the need to believe in something may disappear, but our relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord will never fade. Why because temporary things will pass away but the word of God will stand forever.

I would guess when Jesus returns. Of course at that time, everyone and everything will become extinct. But ask God; He knows for sure.

Not soon enough. I really couldn't say. Let's just hope it happens before we're extinct.
