Temple workers.

Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple:

144,000 are the ones who have been anointed with Holy Spirit and sealed. Many Christians believe everyone is sealed after they are born again, but the Bible makes it clear that the number of those who are sealed are only the 144,000.

Revelation 7:4-8
4 Then I heard THE NUMBER OF THOSE WHO WERE SEALED: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.

These are not literal tribes, but spiritual tribes of Israel (Actual tribe listings is located in the book of Numbers . Also, Judah and Levi were not even considered literal tribes.

They are not literal virgins because they were not kept from being single or from being married. (1 Corinthains 7:1,2,36) The Whore of Babylon (false religion) is said to be "the Mother of Prostitutes (revelation 17:5) and those who have been spiritually free of her, have not committed spiritual adultery. Romans 2:27-29 and Galatians 3:26-29 says they are not literal Jews.

JWs do not even believe the 144,000 are all "Jehovah's Witnesses"

Consider the significance of numerology within the jewish culture that the bible originated from. 12 represented wholeness, completion or perfection. look at the 12 tribes, the 12 apostles, etc etc. so 12x 12,000 would be not only symbolic of wholness or creation, but it would also take into account a representation of all of God's creations. Symbolically, the number144000 could simply represent all of God's creations that have attained a certain wholeness or completion, Perfection in Christ. If we are all Gods children, why would he stop at just 144000? why not let everyone who had attained all that 12 signifies participate?

The 144,000 have very special qualities; Revelation 7 and 14 mention them as highly favored of God. They:

Are sealed by an angel of God
Are specially selected from the tribes of Israel
Stand on Mount Zion with "a Lamb"
Have the Father's name written on their foreheads
Sing a new song no one else can sing
Are redeemed from the earth
Are called "virgins"
Are not defiled with women (false churches)
Are considered the firstfruits of God's harvest
Are guileless and without fault

It refers to twelve thousand from each of the twelve tribes of Israel. This is supposedly the only Jews who will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. In the next verse he goes on to say the numbers of Gentiles or "Others" were too great to count who will also inherit the Kingdom.

12,000 from each tribe of Israel. not just a limited number of people who will get into heaven as the j-dubs like to think. they will be gathered at adam-ondi-amen when Christ has come again.

12 tribes of jews, I believe.

All men.

They're the only ones going to heaven apparently.

They probably believed the world was going to end long before Jesus was ever born when they wrote this drivel. Shouldnt we consign it to the bad ancient-fiction bin and read something good?
