As MOST people who Know what they are Talking about will tell you the Standard outlet Voltage in
The USA is 110VAC 60Hz
The European Union 230VAC 50Hz

Most modern potable devices can handle a range of Voltages and without the intervention of Christ

As it's a laptop the power supply is almost certainly a Universal switched Mode type

Please have a look at the charger / power supply label for:-

110-240VAC 50-60 Hz

If you can find this you can use it with confidence in the UK or the USA well just about anywhere in fact

you will only need to get the power cord or plug top adaptor for the country you are in.

As for your Printer It's NOT really a portable Device and if Bought in the UK it will most likely be 220-240VAC 50Hz
the label will tell you. If it is Sell it here on ebay and buy one in the US.

Hope this Helps

all the best

My son just came home to UK from Japan and all he did was use a power supply cable with a UK plug on. The connection to the PC is the same it is just the plug end that is different. Could probably be the same for USA

well you plug your transformer into the mains so you need to find out what the voltage output from the transformer is. it is usually printed on it some where. when you find out what it is you need to go to a computer store in the usa and get a similar one that will plug into your laptop.

Most mains adaptors are universal now but you will need a different mains cable.
