I also have very curly hair, and have never heard of that. My hair is also dry,, my stylist recommends shampoo & conditioner, but she says not to rinse all of the conditioner out. I have noticed that the higher priced conditioners seem to work alittle better, but also noticed that different hair needs different things. Some people do real well with oil in the conditioner, while others seem to need protein (like me) Just experiment and see what works for you.

I have never heard of this. You may not want to shampoo your hair every day to prevent your hair from drying out. However, you do need to shampoo enough to keep your hair healthy. Conditioners often have extra oils, which can make your hair feel really greasy, as they don't really "clean" your hair.
If you're looking for any recommendations, I highly recommend Trader Joe's citrus scented shampoo. It's made out of natural fruit and plant oils, not tested on animals, 100% biodegradeable, and costs maybe $2-$3. For me, a little of their stuff goes a LONG way.

I've heard of that, and it makes sense because curly hair is usually dry, but all that conditioner leads to build up. SO, what I do is just wash my hair 1-2 times a week (but this is because I'm half black so you might want to wash 2-3 times a week) and not everyday because that will dry out your hair. And of course, use conditioner. I usually wash all the conditioner out and use a moisutrizer and, when I'm not lazy, a leave in-conditioner. I hope this helps!

heard that shampoo can dry out curly hair, but my scalp tends to get oily, so I absolutely must use shampoo.
