They are very light-weight, which means they will not plow heavy snow well. If you insist on trying this, at least put several hundred pounds of extra weight in the back. Snow plowing is very hard on a vehicle and a Jeep is not designed for it. Since they have such a short wheel-base they can be very "squirrely" on ice; you can be facing the other direction on the road before you know it and without warning.
For plowing I would suggest an old beater 4x4 pick-up.

Ok, they're really light so you can forget about pushing snow into big piles *even w/ diff lockers*. The Wrangler already does enogh fishtailing in snow by itself, let alone with a light rear due to a snowplow. However, it does have really tight turning. That might be worth it alone. Oh yeah, not as great on gas as you might think.

They are used as plows very often by universities and city government to plow sidewalks and parking lots. The maneuverability is ideal for these applications. They are used in completely stock form...they don't even switch out the tires. They're not bad...they have stout frames and torquey engines.
Keep in mind that hitting something with the blade like a curb hidden under the snow can destroy the frame or any plough rig.

All I have to say is no, no, no....they suck in the show. They are light and short wheel base. They really don't get good miliage, especially when you are working them hard. Stick with a truck. THey would be better if you get lockers for your rear end and front end...and chains. I have all of this and it helps tremendously.

My best answer would be, yes because the traction would be great with lockers and or snow tires.
