oncologists, for the most part, do not do surgery, that is left to surgical specialists. However, you will have to do a surgical rotation in med school, as well as carving up cadavers of all ages. If you can't tolerate the idea, suggest you go into a different area, medicine is not for you.

More than likely another doctor will do it. Usually the oncologist directs. Thye decide what treatment to give the patient.

oncologists generally do the chemo therapy...the surgeons do the cutting
