Well as much as I am against illegal immigration, no...I wouldn't report someone who was my friend to the feds. I would encourage them to make their status legal in the US however.

And yeah for the record, as with ANY crime, I would try to reason with the person I called my friend if I found out they'd committed a crime instead of just calling the cops on them. I'd also have to take into consideration what the crime was and why they did it, etc... I'm not a snitch. And I certainly do not consider encouraging someone to make themselves legal as being a traitor to my country. How is encouraging someone to follow the law aiding and abiding criminals?

I like it how some people down below me seemed to gloss over the fact that I did say I was against illegal immigration. Would you also incorrectly assume I was for murder just because IF I had a friend that killed someone I would try and talk them into maybe turning themselves in as opposed to just calling the authorities on them? (This is just an example, not comparing illegal immigration to murder mind you.)

So let me get this straight.

You don't care about laws? Or obeying the law? What if someone stole you car? How about that law? According to your logic, laws don't matter, so the car thief should be able to keep your car since he doesn't believe in the law, right?

Here's how foolish your argument is:

I don't care about the law! I have many friends that break the law, but I would never report them to the authorities!

What kind of twisted logic is that? Oh wait, there's no logic there, just feelings.

I don't have any hatred or racism in me, but I am disgusted by what you stated here. I hope that you will get smarter with age, and realize how incredibly foolish you were when you made this statement.

We are also a nation of laws. If you break the law there are consequences. Coming into this country illegally is breaking the law. Working under an assumed SS number is breaking the law.

Got it? It has nothing to do with skin color or ethnicity, whatsoever!

The situation with 12 million illegal immigrants is not good. Without any kind of federal jurisdiction, the borders can allow in unsavory persons such as drug dealers and criminals, and it is a major route of transport for cocaine and other drugs. I support a guest worker program if such an effort is needed economically. I also think that is it a good idea to allow a few immigrants for political asylum (such as those suffering in El Salvador).

But I'm disgusted at the racist protests for immigration reform by illegals, as many of them carry Mexican flags and claim that they want to overcome "whites" in America, with no attempt at integration. Some of their behavior is stunningly undereducated and incompatible with the values of our government. I want the country to allow in the educated, hard working, and intellectuals who might not have the chance to thrive in their country of origin, regardless of their race. If the United States has the pick of the best people in the world, why let in people who hate our country to begin with, and just come here for the money?

Note that Mexico has a strong policy against illegal immigrants in Guatemala and other countries, so it is a bit hypocritical for them to criticize our desire to secure borders.

I have a stepfather from Chile and a mother from the Dominican Republic, and both immigrated legally. His children born in Chile are attending college in the states. Note that he didn't have to break the law to get here. If I had a friend who were illegal, I would not report them -- they are my friend, after all. But I might help them to get legal residence in the states.

Then you are aiding and abed-ding criminal activity. Which means you are a criminal. Which means you go against the God you so often preach about.

I would not have an illegal immigrant as a friend I would turn them into the authorities. I also intend to report you for illegal activities if I can figure out where to report you.

If he's in college shouldn't he have some type of student visa or something simalar. If he's unlawful because this has lapsed you want to assist him to get one. it may in worry-free words very last the size of the direction he's doing yet a minimum of he received't be unlawful anymore. yet another element is this is not any longer that troublesome for them to come across out if he's an unlawful. Immigration will probable have the means to music him down once something flags him. If he will pass for a student visa or simalar he will probable want the college to do something in the direction of it. So attempt to get him to pass to the first which include your help hence. he will quit being an unlawful and could have the means to finish his training while not having to problem about being stuck. once he's complete college he might want to correctly have the means to pass for everlasting residency or perhaps citizenship it relies upon on your united states of america's guidelines in that section

I have a couple friend that were illegals, I am in Mexico, and got caught and sent back. One is saving money to go back to usa and I tell her to do it legal, she says she can't. I tell her then don't. the other one I know is not interested in doing it again.
Mexico is improving some what and in the area I live, central Mexico, things are much better then in the south. Labor intensive farmers are moving down here from Cal. and its opening up many new jobs, that's a good thing for both countries.

I love your questions...they pose a question and then let everyone know that you are going to cry racism if you don't get the answer you want. Very funny.

No. I don't associate with criminals. If I found out that someone was an illegal alien, of course I'd report them. I've reported 5 illegals and 3 businesses so far. I'll be reporting any others that come to my attention.

I am with those who, rightly so, say this is a ridiculous question.
If your friend murdered someone, you'd not turn them in?
If your friend stole something, you'd not report them?
If your friend raped someone, you'd let them slide?

PLEASE!
Does decency take a backseat to friendship?

Don't even play the race card... that's sad, low and pathetic.
I don't care if the illegal alien came from Russia or France or England or Spain or Mexico or China or Africa...
they are here ILLEGALLY.
Period.

Were Nazi collaborators any better than the Nazis themselves? If you ENABLE someone to break the law, does that make you any better than the lawbreaker?

Well I just found out that a Friend i grew up with was here on a green card which expired numerous years ago so she has been here illegally for a very long time she just became disabled and is now receiving Medical and cash benefits so i really don't think turning anyone in does a darn thing when the government is handing them Welfare benefits so i guess no is the answer. But it ticks me off
