1 brick = 9 lb (rock) + 1/2 brick
remove 1/2 brick from both sides
1/2 brick = 9 lb
so 1/2 brick is 9 lbs but you want to know about a brick and a half which is 3 half bricks
so 3 times 9 lbs = 27 lbs

27 pounds. 9 lbs is half the weight of a brick. Your question is how much does 3 half bricks weigh. 9 x 3 = 27

Interesting. A brick weighs 9 lbs + half it's weight, which implies that 9 lbs is half weight. Therefore, a brick weighs 18 lbs.
So a brick and a half would weigh 27 lbs.

brick = 9 + 1/2brick
Multiply both sides by 2 to get:
2brick = 9 + brick
2brick - brick = 9
brick = 9
1/2brick = 4.5
brick + 1/2brick = 13.5 lbs

Weight of brick = x
x = 9 + x/2
x-x/2 = 9
2x-x=18
x=18
1.5 * 18 = 27

Interesting how many people got this wrong (all you 13.5 people). What the heck are you all doing answering math questions? Go over and answer fashion questions instead.

1 brick = 9 + (9/2) = 13.5
half brick = 13.5/2 = 6.75
Therefore one and half bricks weigh 20.25lb
(When you get your brick and rock, let me know!)
