Save up some money and do research about the cost of living there and what professions or jobs are available.

You have to be sure that you can make enough to survive out there first. If you don't have any skills then perhaps you could learn some and take it out there with you. You really can't beat that. Here is a site that has some info:

It has information about getting visa and lifestyle and employment outlook/avenues in Australia. Hope this helps. :)

If you have family within Australia you can ask them to sponsor you. Applying for a perm visa for Australia works on a point system. The more points you have the better chances you have of being accepted into the country. Another way to earn points is to nominate a regional part of Oz to locate to. You will also need to pay approx Au$300-400 for your application, of which if you are unsucessful at obtaining a visa, you will not have refunded. If you should be accepted, its also important to know that you would not be eligible for any government assistance i.e. no welfare payments so it would mean you would also need to make sure you had enough money to last you until you got employment. For the majority of welfare entitlements you need to be an AU citizen or a permanent resident of more than 2 years. Hope this helps and good luck!

The first answer is inaccurate: ignore it. In fact it is very difficult to migrate to Australia these days without skills or higher education. We have a big enough population now and only require particular categories of migrants.

You need to visit the Australian Immigration Department's website and see what the requirements are. (They vary over time.)

Yes Australia has a very open immigrant friendly border. They are however cracking down on Muslim immigrants whom are disruptive in their society.
