it is upto date !! how do i get over it?

Is it at all conceivable that you did a system restore or anything that prompted a system restart *after* you updated the virus database? (That's where AVG keeps track of whether it's up to date, so even if it's up to date, it won't "think so" and you have to update it again.)
Also, maybe you'll have to see if you have the latest version. It's 7.5. Maybe you need to re-download. (If that's true, then while you're at it, take the time to take advantage! Just yesterday they came out with a companion anti-spyware 7.5 for free!)
Aside from those, I dunno. My AVG is the paid-for Soho. No points for me.

just click on 'update',you will have to do it 2 or 3 times but it will update for you,they just added new 'stuff' to it yesterday

It sometimes happens ... update it once or twice and it will be ok.. most probably you update was corrupted or failed
