I'm Christian, and i try my best to be kind and respectful to everyone, because I don't know what's it like for that person, how they feel, what they went through in their life, i cannot be in their shoes, therefore i cannot judge them, only God can, because he knows all about each and every one of us.

But all these people who come here and criticise and disrespect dovorcees, gay/bisexual people, bash other people's beliefs just make me cringe. Their souls are truly disgusting to me, and if i ever met them in real life i wouldn't want to touch them with a 5ft poll :P As a Christian how do you deal with people like that in a kind manner? Because i find it hard to bring myself to loving someone (like Jesus taught) who has so much hatred and prejudice in their heart.

I like hearing others opinions, but there are many ways of expressing ones opinion, and you can do it either in a tasteful, respectful manner, or the complete opposite.

Ignore the ignorance...or buy into their game by reacting...those are the choices when it comes to all of that, here at least.
i believe we all could use and practice a little more tolerance and common courtesy, but hey, what do i know? I'm just a humble pagan.

So what are you saying? Is it hateful and disrespectful for Christian to talk to others about the meaning and purpose of a Judeo-Christian way of life? I don't think so. In fact, I believe it's disrespectful and uncompassionate not to! And you mention prejudiced? I am an ex-gay Christian, and I want to tell you not to fall for the false but popular idea that people are born gay. Even science tells you that this isn't the case. Sexuality is fluid, not static! And, yes, people can help from chosing a gay lifestyle, just as an alcoholic can choose living a sober one! If someone was in a car driving and waving to you, looking straight at you while you're standing at the curb of a street, and you see that he or she is headed right for having a collision with a big dump truck, would one be too critical and disrespectful to yell to them to hit the breaks and look ahead? Yes, I agree that Christians should be good listeners as well. Although we all can empathize with others, no matter what our world and life views are, since we are all human, noone really can understand what it's like to be another person. This is no reason not to discuss matters of importance like how we should live or not live, in order to not wind up in a collision with death in this life, and eternal death in the next.

Back when I first came here I had a day like that I actually went off, but not as crudely as some. then I went off line, for the next 2 hrs while I was doing some cleaning god really worked on me about it, he wouldn't let me off the hook. I got back on and sent apologies to everyone I could and then added one to my question for those that I couldn't contact. That is not what god asked me to come here for . He wants me to help people not turn them away.A Christian is to show compassion and understanding and I am supposed to love and help everyone regardless of their beliefs even if they never want to change. We are called to serve others, not just other christians. It is possible to speak the truth in love and compassion.

Hello Nura. We were taught to try and correct those whoa re behaving poorly in the sight of G-d. We can love them and still admonish them. Jesus didn't tell us to ignore them (Go and preach. To those who listen, be thankful. To those who don't, shake the dust from your sandals and forget them). Let he who has ears hear.
It's not judging to show someone the way. I agree there is a better way than name-calling. You shouldn't be blind to your obligation, but also you shouldn't hammer away at someone who doesn't want to grow up.

It is difficult to love people like that, but that is what sets Christians apart from others. Unfortunately when it is a professed "Christian" who does these things, then they need to repent and turn back to what the Bible is teaching.

To each his own, but why would you come here if you didn't want to hear the opinions of others?

The bible calls sodomy and divorce sin. Pointing it out makes some feel bad because they love their sin more than they love God.

I witness to sodomites and sinners alike. Jesus died for them but glossing over their sin doesn't make them repent.

You need to accept your a sinner before you will seek a Savior.
