Considering your husband to be took the job KNOWING that he is not allowed vacation for a year, too bad so sad. You both should not have been so believing of coworkers prior to taking the job.

There are a few options:

1. He doesn't go, and you reschedule your wedding date to one where his boss will approve it.
2. He says 'ok', then takes off anyway to have the wedding, possibly losing his job in the process.
3. He talks with the supervisor to see if there is any way he could have off at the requested time. If he feels his supervisor is judging him poorly (i.e. stupid reasons for refusing him vacation time) then fiance can go to HR or someone higher than his boss.

Your fiance signed a year long contract five months before the wedding, this contract included no vacation time. A wedding is not urgent, urgent would imply something of great importance that wasn't planned. His boss has no reason to approve your husbands leave due to improper planning and assumptions.

I cant understand a boss who wont let a man have a day or two off to attend his own wedding! I'd call in sick if I were him or just tell him I need a personal day. he sounds so unreasonable and a real @sshole too.

Peter? Is he a mind reader?
Really this is a situation where it's your bed, you made it now you have to accept the consequences.

Stop asking this question. We don't know the answer. Only your fiance will. I suggest asking him.
