I love that atheists think so much...we need that kind of dedication in the kingdom of God. Most truly exhaust alot of time and effort into finding things out. The one thing where atheist and christians are alike is that both sides think with a bias of their own beliefs.
God Bless

If only believers would think as critically. There are many places in the Bible where we are to give an account to others of why we believe the way we do. Even Paul "reasoned" with the Bareans and others at the Acropolis. Atheists may be relying on their own understanding too much (who can know everything?), but they certainly have a right to a logical explanation from believers.

Those damn Atheists. They are always trying to use logic and reasoning to explain the universe around them instead of believing that a man named Jesus from a small town in the middle east was fathered by the creator of the universe and then was placed on a cross and that as long as you completely believe this to be fact you will pass into heaven for all eternity. Some day they will wise up.

Nope...will say there's a good chance some may not have thought enough though.
Atheism...correct me if I'm wrong...is the decision that there there is no God... so...once a decision is made, what thinking takes place?
I mean, when I decided to accept Christ, I didn't just stop thinking for myself...I had questions, and I looked for answers...and then had more questions, and looked for more answers...my being Christian means I never stop thinking...
atheists on the other hand..when they decide there is no God...what's the next question? Why are we here, what is the point, do I have purpose, where does hope come from, how can we fix the problems in the world? all of these questions were already answered when the person says "no God".

That implies believers actually think in the first place.
Religion is about as anti-thought as you can get, what with the whole "accept this hokey story on blind faith even though a child knows it's not just a lie but a stupid one as well" thing.
So basically, anyone who thinks is thinking too much by religious standards.
So the answer is either "yes" because any amount of thinking is too much by their standards, or "no" simply because they aren't thinking in the first place.

All humans think about the same "amount" every day, from waking to falling asleep. The only difference is in the "variety" of thinking.
Atheists have trouble thinking abstractly. It seems they want PROOF of everything - tangible, visible evidence of existence or they refuse to believe in whatever it is. ALL of the finer things in life, such as love, truth, loyalty, poetry, music, art, etc., are abstractions and do not have scientific measurements and explanations and yet no one can deny their existence.
It is extremely difficult to understand why Atheists cannot comprehend that EVERYTHING has a SOURCE or CAUSE and that it's a very small mental leap to recognize that INTELLIGENCE and CREATIVITY are behind whatever exists in this Universe and that the FIRST CAUSE and CREATOR of all things is the One we refer to as GOD.
So, Atheists do not think too much, they simply restrict the range of their thoughts too much. As an analogy, atheists are birds without wings or bats without sonar. lol.

LOL. I have these things you see. They are called thoughts. One person tells me that the bible is inerrant. I read the bible and discover that rabbits chew their cud, insects have four legs, man was created both before and after plants, god blessed rape and incest yet condemns the same, ad nauseum. Those pesky things called thoughts (you know the ones, the same ones that let me know when I am being scammed by a telemarketer) prevent me from believing what someone tells me over what I can read for myself. Call me crazy but with people out their like tfj's (terrorists for jesus), thoughts and thinking are the only way to keep myself from being scammed.

Human beings think too much and associate those thoughts with who they are. Atheists and Christians come to different conclusions but one doesn't "think" more than the other.

I'm an atheist, and many members of my christian family have told me I think too much, not just about existential stuff but about most things.
