It's a special Christmas Mass. It starts on Christmas Eve so that the congregation will be standing in the Church at the stroke of Christmas Day. It's one of the most popular and well-attended Masses of the year, at least in my parish. People who don't go to church any other time will come out for the Midnight Mass. It's usually standing room only.

do no longer you mean hour of darkness Mass @ a catholic church? i became a methodist some years in the past, until eventually now I got here to my senses, and we never held any style of Mass. i may well be incorrect for the duration of this because of the fact the Methodist church has probable replaced very lots in those intervening years, that's the properly suited reason I left interior the 1st place. there is not any reason so which you would be able to worry this circulate to to the Methodist church. in many techniques it rather is exceptionally equivalent to the different Protestant church. purely latch onto your boyfriends arm and do what he does, yet do it with the outward recommendations-set that it is previous hat to you. cover your worry at the back of this recommendations-set. when I left the Methodist church I grew to alter right into a Baptist. The centers are exceptionally lots an identical different than that the Methodists are somewhat greater formal than the Baptists.

I actually don't know the official reasoning behind midnight mass. I went to one with a friend in HS - we were both on LSD at the time. I think it was actually at 10 rather than 12.

held at the stroke of midnight as Christmas Eve ticks into Christmas Day, has its origins in the belief that Christ was born at exactly that hour. Many Catholics traditionally celebrate a midnight Mass, but non-Catholics are welcome to attend.
