Don't feel too bad, I've made mistakes but I've taken responsibility for my actions, I know it, God knows it and alot of other people do to. When you are wanting to do something research it before diving head first. You'll be glad you did.

You have a very good point! Most of us do not consider that we do not take responsibility for our own actions, but instead blame things on others when we could have controlled the situation.
This is a society of never take the blame, unfortunatly its become a trend to always blame others. Whether it be a video game, movie, music, another human, the dog, etc.
If more people would take responsibility for their own actions then there would probably be alot less frivolous lawsuits. We are in control of our actions, not someone else.

I do. I didn't always claim 100% responsibility. Just like the example you gave, that you were late "because" of the little old lady going slow, things like that. I also blamed "fate" a lot.
Since I have made an effort to claim 100%responsibility for my own actions, my life has improved tremendously. I have LESS problems than I ever did before. I'm definitely less "lazy", lol. It's turned me into a very pro-active person.

You are more then on the right track! Taking responsibility for all your personal actions will help alot. Sometimes, even taking the blame, even for things you may not really have anything to do with, will help, as well.
I'm the same way, especially with driving (Driving and video games are the only real things left that can continually piss me off). Leaving yourself lots of time and just enjoying the moment is the key. Though, it's hard while in the car!

Yes I do. I find it easier to take responsibility. It will all come out anyway who is truly to blame...it is better to pay the consequences now rather than later when the punishment could be more harsh. Plus....when we die and stand before our Lord for our judgement...we cannot blame someone else for why we did or did not do what was done...we are always to blame. I think that a truly responsible and humble person will take responsibility for their own actions.

Taking responsibility for your own actions is what being and adult is all about.
I absolutely agree with your statement that "by taking responsibility for the things I can control, I will live a better, healthier life."

Good for you. Not everything is so easily controlled but considering stress is the leading cause of my other health problems, I'd say take a deep breath and get your butt to the local massage therapist. Not only will it help with stress and a ton of other medical problems, its a great way to pamper yourself.

Yes, I believe you have really thought this through. Epictetus, an ex-Roman slave, thought about the same thing. He felt that we are the source of our own discomforts, and can live happier lives when we start taking responsibility for our own thoughts and actions. I wish you the best of luck with your new course.

Christians believe we are born sinners, therefore everyone has already screwed up. They are told throughout life that they are sinners (it's in the Bible) as a result of something they did not do. Edit: I do not know if your god is stupid. I do not know what attributes you give to your god. It tends to differ from one person to the next. I do not know what a "true christian" is. If you say you are a Christian, it is not up to me to decide whether you meet the "true" criteria, whatever that even means. I don't undrstand what you are saying. Are you saying that if we were born good and did good, your god wouldn't care?

Absolutely. The only thing you can control is yourself, your actions, and your REactions. If you give that up and give someone else the power to control you, what do you have left??
