sure...lot of talk about the religious revival in the 1800s. Very little going to Scripture. my hats off to the few who went back to something written LONG before 1800.
1Cor 15:51-52
But let me tell yo ua wonderful secret God has revealed to us. Not all of us will die, but we will all be transformned. It will happen in a moment, in the blinking of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, the Christians who have died will be raised with transformed bodies. And then we who are living will be transformed so that we will never die.
1 Thes 4: 16-17
For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, all the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with Him forever.
Phil 3:20-21
And we are eagerliy waiting for Him to return as our Saviour. he will take these weak mortal bodies of ours and change them into glorious bodiesl like his own, using the same mighty power that he will use to conquer everything, everywhere.
yeah...looks like your right. obviously made up by some irish dude. Look ...doesn't matter how you try to dice it...three seperate verses...all have somethings in common: 1) Christ is returning. 2) when He does, the dead shall rise 3) the living shall join Him.
I know..you're going to say "oh...those silly Christians"...but have you ever been to sci-con and seen all the Trekies? guess Gene Rodenberry wasn't the first to think about bodies moving through space. Ironic ...trekies dream about it, Christians are living for it.

While the WORD "rapture" doesn't appear in the Bible, it's premise lies in 1 Thessalonians Chapter 4, and throughout the book of Revelation. The usage of the word "rapture" comes from a Greek language bible in which the word was used to describe the part that says we'll be raptured "in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye...." in 1Corinthians 15:51-52 The word "rapture" comes from the Greek word "rapare" meaning "to snatch out or seize" Pretty accurate description of it, isn't it?

No. The rapture is not in the bible. What the bible talks about is Jesus coming back (before this generation shall pass) because they wanted to be saved from the Romans. Revelation is comprised of two visions.
Since the pre-tribulation "rapture" theory is of such relatively recent origin, and is so different from all other doctrines held by Christians over a period of eighteen centuries, how and where did it originate, and how has it gained such apparent ascendancy in such a relatively short time?
To answer the first part of that question we need to go back in time to the year 1830 and in space to Scotland and a town in western Scotland known as Port Glasgow. There, in the spring of 1830, a religious furore developed about the Macdonald family, who were said to have worked miracles of healing and to be both speaking in "tongues" and interpreting the "tongues." The occurrences at the Macdonald home are recorded in a very interesting and readable book by Dave MacPherson entitled "The Incredible Cover-up", subtitled "The True Story on the Pre-Trib Rapture." MacPherson quotes at length from a book written in 1861 by the Rev. Robert Norton (1807-1883), a British physician and clergyman, entitled "The Restoration of Apostles and Prophets: In the Catholic Apostolic Church." Norton, a member of the Catholic Apostolic Church and in full sympathy with the events he recorded, related how Margaret Macdonald, in the spring of 1830, had expressed her belief, which resulted from her study of the scriptures, that Christians would be "raptured" or "translated" from the earth prior to the "tribulation." Norton emphasized that Margaret's pronouncement was the first time anyone had distinguished two stages in the Second Coming of Christ — "for here we first see the distinction between that final stage of the Lord's coming, when every eye shall see Him, and his prior appearing in glory to them that look for him."

I do not know about the "Irish dude," but the Rapture is not accurate.
The books of the New Testament were not selected, edited, and collated until hundreds of years after the death of Jesus. John the Beloved was still alive then, and in disguise, visited those responsible for its canonization. His writings were profound. They gave the editors a different view of Jesus’ ministry than that which had been passed down from one generation to the next. John also delivered his manuscript for his Revelation to the editors, knowing they would never comprehend its meaning because of the symbolic and metaphorical way in which it was written. In this way, John maintained the integrity of the manuscript for hundreds of years.
...The easiest way to understand what John has presented, both figuratively and symbolically in his writings, is to have the secrets and mysteries of God explained. This knowledge and understanding has been revealed throughout time to true prophets of God; but each has been laid under a strict command to only reveal those things allowed and relevant to his particular day and age.
Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. (Amos 3:7)
There has never been a time in the history of this world when the minds of humans have been more prepared to have the mysteries of God revealed in plainness. With the advancements in technology, and the access to information currently available to the human race, it is no longer necessary to keep the many mysteries of God “sealed” from the understanding of His creations.
Had these same mysteries been revealed in the days of the ancient prophets, the people would have killed them for blasphemy and gross heresy spoken against the accepted religious doctrines and precepts accepted as truth in their day.
You can read these "mysteries revealed" for the first time ever in the book at the site below. It is free.

There is nothing in the Bible that speaks of a Rapture. In 1Corinthians 15, it speaks of Jesus Christ returning to claim his kingdom, stopping man's destruction, before he totally destroys humanity; at this time the first resurrection is done, and those that are in Christ, are resurrected, and changed by the spirit, for mortal to immortal, and will rule with Jesus in His kingdom a thousand years
You don't have the understanding of the bible. Satan is leading you with his lies, the wrong way. Be very care full, before it is to late. Satan knows the truth, and he knows the time is very short..

The rapture is a very simple concept. No where in scripture, does God let his innocent people suffer with the godless. The ideal that God will remove the church before the great tribultions is in many differnt chapters.
