Uh-huh.
Belief sure seems to come with a lot of strings. Besides, can YOU force yourself to believe in the invisible dragon hiding under my bed? No? Then how can you think that anyone can force themself to believe anything? Do you honestly think that we can just decide one day to believe?

What is so hard for you to understand that he is supposed to be a jealous god also? Maybe if you took off your rose colored glasses and actually read the buybull you'd see how unloving and unmerciful he is:
Esther 2:23, 3:13, 7:10, 9:6-10, 9:14-16
Job 1:15-17
Psalms 18:40, 18:47, 21:9, 58:10, 59:11-13, 68:21, 11:4, 118:11-12, 137:9, 140:9-11, 149:6-9
Jeremiah 5:9, 6:4-5, 7:31, 9:16 & 25, 12:12-17, 13:14, 15:6, 16:4-5, 17:27, 21:7, 46:10, 50:28, 52:27

God is a concept few grasp, and understandibly so. The grounding of human existence into physical form is mans focus as mankind knows no other existence in memory.
There is nothing Religious, or holy about Spritualism nor is it required mankind "believe" as single thing, even "God".
This Concept of "belief" is mans distortion of reality as "all things" with God appear to have a caveat, a "contract" with strings attached for a reward of sorts. If one believes, well, then one gets something special "Life after Death"...
What mankind has done, within this Realm of "reality" is to place Reality on a "God" as this releases mankind of responsibilities, a way out for the lazy.
God is held responsible for all mankind does that is percieved as "Evil"; ie, why does "God" allow little children to die.
Because mankind elected to make rather large bombs, even nuclear, and then drop them on a city with Little Children in them?
Mankind distorts all it touches when it wants as this best "Serves man"; a man can kill another if the powers that be ask him to for the powers that be shall benefit from it; if that same man does murder another of his own accord that same powers that be shall also kill him or inprison him.
A clue to mans self serving beliefs, and in such creats a God that serves mankind best.
Consider this when looking at any Bible and trying to determine what was placed there by man and what is actual truth.

People have a hard time believing what they cannot see. In today's world people are very logical thinkers overall and they want facts to back up faith, which is kinda funny considering the very meaning of faith is belief that is not based on proof. People who lived in the time of Christ got to see all the miracles and they had a hard time believing! Which is why the Bible says, "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe” (Jn. 20:29).
Secondly I disagree with your statement "Believe in God, that's all God requires of you." You also need to have a personal relationship with God and follow his commandments. In a nutshell Love God, Love people. Hope this answers your question! :)

You are right but he also wants us to follow, meaning giving up our will for his, which can be a lifetime process. " When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, your sins will produce these evil results: sexual immorality, impure thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasures, idolatry, participation in demonic activities, hostilities, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, self ambition, divisions, and feeling that everyone is wrong except your little group, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other kinds of sin. Let me tell you, as I have before, that sort of life will never inherit the kingdom of god. But when the holy spirit controls your lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Here there is no conflict with the law." Galatians 5: 19 -24. We all have bad days but if someone is really seeking to follow Christ they should make sure the person they are looking to for teachings is living the way they should be.

This is my belief, and what we stand and recite at Mass every Sunday:
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son
he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. AMEN.

It's not just a belief in GOD, but the belief that GOD came to earth and died for our sins. Anyone who says they believe in GOD or a Supreme Being but doesn't believe it is Christ will not be going to Heaven

Humanity has made a God of Love yet Love cannot exist without hate or you wouldn't know what it was. Both are human concepts and God is beyond that.

Believe in God, that's all he requires of You.
That statement is not hard to understand.
If you believe that, that's great but you may find out that their are more requirements for You than to just believe.
You can believe sure and do exactly the opposite of what he requires. So..............................

LOL! "Believe in G-d, that's all G-d requires of you." I highly doubt that this is enough to convince people. You're telling someone to believe in something because that something requires it, without any other evidence to back it up. Not very logical, I'm afraid.
