Police spend very little time knocking on doors to serve warrants. However, if you have any contact... a traffic stop, accident, being a victim or witness, the warrant will come up.
I can tell you from experience, this most often happens at an inopportune time. You could have tickets to a ball game or concert, and next thing you know you are in jail. Getting picked up on a weekend is worse, if you can't post, you sit till Monday (usually Tuesday, the judge is busy dealing with the weekend on Monday).
If you have the money, pay it. If you do not, turn yourself in. I would suggest turning yourself in on a Tuesday morning. That is your best chance to see th judge the same day, and if you give him a decent reason, he will very likely let you go on a payment plan.

If it is a bench warrant, no. But if you get stopped, apply for a job, any number of things where a criminal check may be done, it will show up. If you have a regular warrant. eventually someone will come knocking. You need to turn yourself in. Delay will only increase the penalty.

Yes they will, happens everyday. If there is a warrant out for you, it looks better in court if you turn yourself in before the warrant is served.

Depends where you are from.
In most places in CA/NY you could go a lifetime w/a warrant w/that little of money as long as your not stopped or questioned for anything and they run a warrant check.

Depends on what the infraction is. In my town the police will call you and ask you to stop in if say the warrent is for unpaid traffic tickets. If you get stopped while driving and there is a warrent for you, the police will impound the vehicle.

They are not going to come knocking on your door, but if you are pulled over or come into contact with law enforcement you will be arrested.
