Well, there are 16 Tablespoons of sugar in a cup, so you just added 12 tablespoons of sugar to a gallon of tea. (There are three teaspoons of sugar in a tablespoon. A teaspoon of sugar is 16 calories, so a tablespoon of sugar is 48 calories)
There are 16 cups in a gallon, and a cup equals 8oz.
So, figure out the math! I'm tired...

Put 7 cups of cold water in a pan, add 8 teabags, bring the water to a boil for 40 seconds. It isn t necessary but i leave the tea bags in for an hour or two after i m done boiling for good flavoring. Then remove teabags and reheat the tea to warm enough it melts the sugar well. Pour into a one gallon pitcher, add 3/4 cup of sugar, stir well. Then i add one tray of ice and melt it into the tea (if i want to serve it right away) and fill up pitcher until it is one gallon of tea. stir very well and serve.

3/4 cup of sugar = 12 tablespoons = 36 teaspoons
1 gallon of tea = 16 8-ounce cups.
You're getting about 2.25 teaspoons per cup of tea.
You know, if the tea is good, it makes good unsweet iced tea. I open a gallon of spring water, plop 7 Red Rose tea bags in, with the tags sticking out the neck, close the gallon and stick the gallon aside.
In 8 hours, I remove the tea bags (you have to remove them one at a time) without squeezing the tea bags at all, then fill up an 18-ounce Dixie cup with crushed ice to the brim and fill it with the room-temperature tea. It 'swonderful, and unlike sweet tea, it quenches thirst instead of making you thirstier.
