I don't know why, but I'm *hoping* that they are...my next will be one.

My understanding is that a few folks asked for new PCs with XP instead of Vista, and that Microsoft is seen as, having become "bloated" and "trying to catch up" with a quick-changing world. IBM has teamed with OpenOffice now to take over (even with a European court decision) a new standard for document formats, just waiting for folks who are "so used to Word."

Quite a few folks are hesitant for Macs *just* because software hasn't been developed *yet* to run on Macs. It takes demand. Someone (some crowd) has to take the leap.

So far, only Mac can run a Virtual Machine (a copy of Windows as a heh heh window).

I know some webmasters who'd "develop on nothing but a Mac."

I see Mac as the Ferrari, PC as the Buick.

Microsoft is a software company while Apple is a hardware company. windows is designed to run on practically any hardware configuration, while Mac OS is designed to run only on specific hardware controlled by Apple. If Apple decides in the future to allow the OS to be used on any hardware, it will have as many issues as Windows, since device drivers and conflicts are among the biggest problems for Windows and for software in general.

Interesting, the Mac I'm using suffers from the same issues as the comparable PCs I've used. The attitude that one is better is probably mostly observer bias.

IF Macs were truly better, there would be more Mac users than PC users. There aren't. Stop trying to sooth your hurt feelings at having paid more for a so-so machine! More options, more accessories, more software, and easier to repair on the PC side of the equation.

I have a Macbook and Windows desktop. Mac colours are much prettier...but they are not as user-friendly as Windows. I like them both equally.
