I recently read a rather interesting NDE where a person claimed to meet what appeared to be the Virgin Mary. When he asked the being it's true identity, it later manifested itself as God, or in his words "The Supreme Being". The rest of the NDE is pretty much no different than all the other reports floating around.
I found this kind of strange though because why didn't God just bring the real Virgin Mary. Isn't this being a little deceitful? So God could just pretend to be mom or dad or grandpa as well?
I am looking to hear from someone who has a little bit of a religious background although I don't care which religion with some insight into this.

There is much confusion over the topic of "who is showing up" in many visions, dreams, etc. Reading through the bible AND other missing books the answer is given to us.
No one sees G_D, period. What we see, even Moses when he talked to the burning bush, are angels. An angel can come in any form, even the form of G_D if G_D so commands it.
So images of Mary, Jesus, loved ones, etc are nothing more than angels. Now saying that, also understand ghosts, demons and other bad items are also angels, fallen angels. As Genesis speaks of fallen angels, so does the book of Enoch. When these fallen angels took up wives and had children. These children were not the creation of G_D. So when these children ( what most call gray aliens ) die their souls are forced to roam earth. This is what we call ghosts and all, for they are black, gray in color. An angel of G_D's will always be in color.

the only ones who are playing the "impersonation" game are Satan and his evil angels. They especially like to impersonate dead relatives. This is how they spread the lie that there if life after death. NDE are another venue through which they like to deceive people.
Quiet buck... oh please! Demons are the ones doing the impersonating game but as far as marrying human beings... there is nothing in the Bible to substantiate that... angels cannot reproduce... The "angel" who appeared to Moses at the burning bush was Christ Himself who is often called "the Angel of the Lord."
teresa: When Jesus said that, He meant it, literally! for "In Him we live and move and have our being." Acts 17:28. "In Him all things hold together." Col.1:17.

Matthew 25:40 says "as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to Me."
This doesn't mean that you are actually doing anything to Jesus when you are mean to someone or good to someone, but Jesus takes it that way. He takes very personally the way you treat other people. It's not deceitful at all. It's like if you have a little sister and someone is mean to her, you would take that upon yourself as if they had done it to you. Your instinct would be to protect her and fight for her if necessary. Jesus loves us like that.

Think about it. If God is truely 'God', he/she can do anything he/she damn well pleases.
