If the credit card is in your name, yes, you are liable to pay the outstanding debt.

You are responsible to pay.

Even if you move over sea's the credit card company will continue to send you letters and bills. If you are having financial trouble just simply call them at explain that you are getting divorced and have no work but will make an attempt to settle we you are working again.
This will satisfy them for about 30 days, then they will start hounding you again. I really would worry about it, if you can't pay they can't come get you for it. Just do the best you can. When the divorce is over depending on the state that you lived in the debt although in your name may be 50% you husbands, some states divide assets as well as debt equally.
Even though they will come after you he will have to pay some debt of yours that you don't have to so it all works out in the end.
I never suggest bankrupcy to anyone because of the real damage it does to your credit and the national economy, always make an attempt even if its $5.00 a month and you can get then to stop the interest and fees you will get it paid off.
Best regards to you!

As long as your outside of the US, collection agencies cannot pursue you. However, if you and your husband are residents of a community property state, you are equally responsible for the debt. If they cannot go after you, then they will go after your your soon to be ex.

yes of course you are but you cant get blood out of a turnip, if you do not have the money you do not have the money, so be it, you can just not answer the requests and file bankrupsy, and start all over if needed.

yes, they can collect, however don't say anything over the
phone, don't make arrangements over the phone, write
them a letter and make them respond in writing.
