And the earth goes into chaos, will the police, criminals, and ordinary citizens who are left learn to cooperate and live together? Will we learn to ignore racial differences? What do you think?

I think it would then be considered a moot point, very few would survive, & them, not long. Just the pres in his bunker & whoever is allowed to go there with him. He will be useless at that point too!

There is an asteroid heading towards us that will be so close that it will pass below our communication satellites, but I don't think it will happen until sometime around 2030. There is something up with the year 2012 though, several ancient calendars mysteriously end there, so who knows.

If that ever happens, the terms Police, Criminals, and Ordinary Citizens will no longer exist. It will just be Human Beings trying to survive.

Are you suggesting that a cataclysmic event of biblical proportions will somehow teach people to live together in harmony?

My guess is that some will step up and retain a civilized sense of survival and order, while others go completely out of control. Basically, the same as it is now, except magnified x10000.

when that happens, there will be no people left.

all that will remain are the insects that will evolve to create a super world, the likes of which have never been seen nor imagined.

They will cooperate, they will live in as one, they will put all their resorses together an explore outer space in peace, forever exploring the universe.

We will be feeding the trees, that since we are gone, are flourishing ever so nicely.

When faced with a large enough problem, a group of people will generally bond together to overcome the task. IE if a family member dies, the family will stop fighting about things to get through the experience. I would imagine that would happen on a global scale with some exceptions.

First of all....if a giant asteroid hits earth....I doubt many will be left.

Ordinary citizens and law enforcement DO get along. I can't say much about ordinary citizens with law enforcement getting along with criminals.

Maybe the question should be posed to the criminals since they're the ones that prey upon society in general!

I doubt the people left will get along. They will probably be fighting for food, water, shelter, etc.

Nope...Quite the opposite...I suspect it will be even more segregated sort of how prisons are...you hang with your "own kind" and that's it.
