Jessica, I work for Shell and I believe we have a superior product to discount brands, but I'm going to ask you to go to the Top Tier gasoline website and read why several auto manufacturers created the Top Tier program. The whole purpose of the program is to identify the best fuels available to drivers today. This is for all grades, not just premium.

This website explains why Top Tier was developed and which retailers are currently approved. The fuel available from these retailers is better than anything else you can find on the street today.

Me personally? I run Shell gasoline, but I did before I joined the company and being able to work for a highly respected company that does produce such a good product was a major reason I joined them. When I'm not able to buy Shell, I look for other Top Tier retailers. I've got a lot of money invested in my car and a couple cents a gallon for a better fuel saves me repairs down the road.

I've gotten slightly better mileage from Shell fuel but not enough to justify the extra cost. Shell is usually about 5 cents/gal higher priced in my area.

I don't think it matters at all which brand you use. I've been driving for many years, and have used virtually every brand of gasoline out there. There is no noticeable mileage difference in any of them.

Higher grades of gasoline can allow the engine to run more efficiently, however most modern engines run fine on regular gasoline.
