If you are the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and you want to invade Cuba, would you do it through 1) an Airborne Assault (including Air Assault) by U.S. Army Light Infantry units, such as the 101st & 82nd Airborne and 75th Ranger, dropping behind enemy lines to establish an 'airhead' first 2) an Amphibious Assault by the U.S. Marine Corps, landing on the coast to establish a 'beachhead' first?

to be honest i would start by bombing then you do a two prong assault, you hit the beach head and drop air born troops a the same time, this keeps there forces ted up in to different directions.hen you apply the hammer and anvil tactic were you push them in one direction, in to your other force and catch them in the cross fire of the two. you get mass number of kills as well as demoralizing them, at the time you are doing this you have SF and the SEAL teams take out the top leaders of the country and put our own in at that time.

They are fairly well set up for an assault out of Gitmo. I would take out their command and control. Establish a beachhead with Marine assault forces and funnel whatever troops I needed across it. An early objective would be an airfield.
After having said that I have no idea why we would commit the effort to invade Cuba. As soon as Castro dies we will become friends rather quickly. We would lose too much face as long as he is still living.

Airhead... what the heck is an airhead, sounds like a person without a clue to me.

Any military assult would include both of what you have suggested; however it isn't in our best interest to invade Cuba... what would be the point and what objective is it that you are trying to achieve?

You want another welfare state for the American taxpayer to support or what?

We already have a beach head, it's Guantanamo. Didn't you know the US has a military base on the island of Cuba.
