To become a human then let them kill him so they would be redeemed. Are we supposed to find sympathy for some stupid God who did all that unnecessary nonsense? He certainly didn't improve the morality of mankind by this action. So just what purpose did it serve? and how did that accomplish his purpose if he had one?

Thank you for asking this question. You made me more sure that the bible is true. You are proving that Paslm 14:1 and 53:1 are so very true.

1st, God is not Omnipotent. There are many things He cannot do. Read more here:

2ndly, God's plan is not done. He isn't fixing mankind, He is making a new species:

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

Im sure that if it was UNNECESSARY, God would NOT have come in a human body to redeem mankind at all!

The fact that He DID so, shows compassion, the ultimate sacrifice for LOVE, and the immeasurable WISDOM and GRACE of God .

God isnt it the business of improving mankinds "morality"...but in making anyone who believes a member of a NEW CREATION, and giving that person, as a gift, the very righteousness of Christ Himself. In return for believing in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as complete payment for reconciliation with God on His terms, we are placed into a NEW CREATION, called the church which is His body, and SEALED UNTIL the day of redemption.

YOUR problem in understanding such a magnanimous act is clouded by your trying to comprehend such actions from a human point of view ie: using your own logic. God tells us "not to lean unto our own understanding...." It has been tainted by sin...the very thing we need rescuing FROM.

I dont appreciate your calling MY GOD stupid. If you think it was unnecessary for YOU, then He is a gentleman and will allow you that CHOICE. You wont like the results of your arrogant and prideful mindset, but God still gives YOU the choice to NOT believe Him.

My rationality stems from the idea that religion (in my case, Christianity) deals with moral truths.

I have no idea what you mean by "To become a human then let them kill him" as this is an unbiblical idea (in Christian terms), unless you are talking about Hinduism/Buddhism in terms of reincarnation - of which I reject the idea.

In other terms, tell me how is the morality of mankind developed? Through philosophy? No, that's relative. Through science? Science does not deal with morals. Anything else? It's religion.

It was totally rational since the sin of man had to be dealt with. Since there has never been a human being born who was sinless, God had to come, to be born in human form as Jesus, to be the substitute for our sins.

God doesn't need anyone's sympathy, and has never asked for it. Since He is the Creator, He has no need for it. However, He does desire for us to have a relationship with Him. For this purpose, He opened the way, through Jesus.

The traditional concept of Christianity that God sent his perfect son to die for our sins is completely wrong.

Jesus came to Earth in an attempt to improve the level of spirituality in man. He did that by living a life dedicated to doing the will of God, thereby showing by example the way back to the Creator. That was his purpose and his message - he never wanted or intended to be worshiped as deity himself. He certainly NEVER said anything about dying for our sins.

This is a fundamental distortion in Christianity. You are not born into sin because of Adam. God did not require Jesus to die for you in order to attain salvation. God - as always - asks only one thing - Love. Jesus loved his enemies even as they nailed him to the cross. That's it - just love. The rest is a fabrication of the church trying to control it's congregation.

First of all, if youre speaking in christian terms, it wasn't God becoming human and dying. God's son Jesus was put on this earth to teach and spread the word of God. He wasn't put here simply to die. Jesus was persecuted and killed because of people like you three who thought his teachings were ridiculous. His teachings went against people in high positions, and they couldn't stand to have him around. In my opinion it was because they felt jealous of his honesty and having people behind him.

I don't believe that God meant for Jesus to die the way He did. It wasn't part of the original plan. God did provide us all with free will, and therefore, he needed to sit back a little and watch peoples reactions to Jesus. You can try and justify it all you want, but being close minded and disrespectful to those who are devout and believe in God is ridiculous.

I think Jesus should be seen as a noble example of self-sacrifice, that he, who had no sin but to preach kindness and goodwill among people, agreed to be condemned to death by corrupted clergymen and imperialists just to prove a point that there is still hope for man to change his evil ways.

It would be irresponsible to declare that the "Jesus" concept did not improve the morality of HUMANkind, he was able to inspire a lot of people into doing great acts of kindness and love...

BB, you ASSUME it's impossible for YOU to be believed. You ASSUME he did it to find YOUR sympathy. You ASSUME he didn't improve YOUR morality this way. Stop assuming and start searching. You're not asking a question really, you're merely declaring a personal creed. Translation : open your mind.

God is the facilitator, He doesn't interfere in our choices.
This is a world of choices, and each and every one has a right to make his/her choices.
There's also the law of Karma - "As you sow, so you Reap"
God doesn't punish you, they're the consequences of your action.
God is the Redeemer and Uplifter.
He gives us spiritual choices, which can be applied for our benefit. But to accept it or not is entirely our choice and God is definitely comfortable about this.
