although you're being a little harsh, i have to agree with you. if the catholic church made people responsible for their actions instead of just moving the priest to another church, then it might send a message to the sick people who call themselves priests just to get at children

The Church would have less of a problem in regard to pedophilia and homosexual pedophilia if it
1) screened applicants to the priesthood better.
2) better prepared applicants about what a life of celibacy entails
3) forget the celibacy crap and allow priests to marry (which of course doesn't mean that they won't be fooling around with children and other people's spouses, of course).
Weird stuff goes on in all other kinds of monastic communities. It's human nature--but some [but not all] monastic groups (certain Hindu and Buddhist monastic communities, for example) have much stricter preparatory and evaluation periods, and if you mess up in the slightest way--even if only by suspicious--you're kicked out. The way it works in Catholocism is that you can be out at a strip club or doing whatever one night and the next day enter seminary school with the intention of being a celibate priest. Good luck!
Also, many priests who are "misbehaving" are in denial about what they were doing. When I confronted a priest who began to got sexual with me during my adolescence, he told me that I was crazy and needed therapy. He then left me alone and proceeded to get into a relationship with a married woman.

because of the fact the Catholic Church is the biggest denomination. The occurrence of abuse are a lot extra possibly now in the different faith, and a lot extra possibly in school than in a Catholic Church. with the aid of how, maximum toddler molesters are MARRIED adult men, not single adult men. you're able to desire to look into the stairs that the Catholic Church has taken. instruction for any grownup that works with youngsters, history tests for the clergymen AND every person else who works with them, ect. a number of our Protestant Brothers and Sisters have desperate to not undertake those transformations, I STRONGLY recommend they do. they are going to be next. On yet another observe, why did you stop on the age of 13? you're able to look into the Catholic faith lower back, a minimum of keep an open concepts. grow to be each and every thing you knew at 13 superb? Peace be with you and God Bless!

The Catholic Church is not a "hotbed of pedophilia" as you suggest. You have been duped by the Media.

Unfortunately, I believe those sick minded individuals would still molest little boys. We can't blame the church for their faults. That would be like saying the world wouldn't be such a bad place if God didn't forgive us for our sins. We as parents have to make a more conscious effort to educate and protect our children instead of assuming our kids are safe in the hands of a religious figure.
