Keep things in perspective.
Jesus and the Apostles were Christians.
Can the same be said of the "religious" leaders who worry more about feeding their bank accounts than the hungry?
Don't confuse the two

Funny !
Indeed ! I wonder if that one person who got mad at the temple vendors would get mad again?
And all the churches do make a buck don't they! They teach self sufficiency for their adherents, but the churches themselves are greedy.
This thing about keeping the poor in mind, has been misunderstood. They probably think: "Ah, we are to keep them in mind, but do not have to do anything. Well, it's hard not to when they are all over the neighborhood."
It would be good if we could go back to first-century type of Christianity.

Jesus' truth was counter to current accepted belief. In a large part of the comfortable part of the world, the Church's teachings are not subject to persecution anymore. In many places (Africa, Middle East) missionaries are still being persecuted and killed for their beliefs.

Who says truth can't be found doing 120mph on a road in Tahiti?
But yeah, somewhere that whole poverty and devotion to charity seems to have been lost by that majority of church leaders.

That's why Jesus said one could recognize his true followers by the fruit they produce. He also said it wouldn't be easy for his followers - they would face trials and tribulations and possibly even death.
And that it's very hard for a rich man to make it into God's kingdom.

This is what sets apart the true believers from the hypocrits. Not just in Christianity, but in any religion.

"Gosh, it sounds like buisness is good"!
It's lies that cost money.
The "Truth" is free.
"Truth" is found in the "Truth-brary".
"Lies" are found in the "lie-brary".
