Answer from ramadas i like it very much,lingayat communiy opposition of child marrige and ill -treatment of widows,but what is that object men and women wear on a cord around neck?

It is Shiva Linga. These Lingayets are followers of Siva or Linga which you have narrated. Their name Lingayes means "linga-wearers". I is from the small lingas that both men and women wear on a cord around the neck.-
