I had a misstep when i was 12 years old. A small round bump appeared under my left ankle as a result. Now i noticed that it has become bigger. A mass of muscle enveloped the bump ( i think it's the mass which grew bigger). I had the lump checked and the doctors said that there is nothing to be afraid of. I don't feel any pain at all but im just worried that it might be cancerous. My tita died of cancer last year because she dismissed a lump under her armpit in the past 25 years.

I would go to the doctor and have it checked on. It isn't necessarily cancerous, but if I were you, i would feel safer knowing that it isn't. Just go in and demand a biopsy. If it is growing, you never know...

Sorry about your Tita! =(

Good Luck!!

I'm sorry to hear about your Tita. But, you have to have it checked. A routine biopsy can be done in a local clinic or a hospital just for you to know if it's benign or malignant. Get as many opinions from different doctors for your peace of mind. Besides, you have mentioned that your Tita died because of a lump that she ignored for so many years. In other words, your genes predisposes you to such a threat, because cancer is very much inherited. I don't want to scare you, but it should be enough warning for you to have it checked ASAP, just to rule out the possibility that it is malignant or even carcinogenic. If it's quite small, a minor surgery can be made to extract it. GOODLUCK!

I am concerned that the mass has become bigger .. that is one of the only signs that something might be cancerous . . an uncontrolled growth. Go see a doctor immediately for a further examination. If this is a rare cancer called sarcoma . . unfortunately a regular doctor will not recognize this as cancer . . it is almost always misdiagnosed. Ask for a biospy for confirmation of whether this is malignant or benign. Do not delay any longer. There are slow growing tumors that can grow for years as you have seen with your relative. It is also possible for a tumor or mass to lay dormant for a number of years and than to become cancerous. See a doctor as soon as possible.

Go to another doctor and get a second opinion. If your doctor tells you that its nothing to worry about, then ask him what it is. If he cant tell you go to a doctor that can.Why would he tell you that its nothing when its not normal for a lump to be on your ankle.Dont freak your self out until you know for sure what it is, after your misstep as a child cartlige may have built up around the bone to protect it. I'm sorry to hear about your Tita.

I badly sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry going down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on a bad side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to be stretched going on the inside. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was un-believable. I've never had a serious ankle injury before.

So I immediately treated it using the RICE method. The following day, the bruising and swelling were so horrible. I found out that I got a second degree sprain and immediately panicked after that. I had a football game on that week and it been looking forward to it because I've been training for rt. I had teammates that had similar injuries and it took them months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I kinda had a short-term depression because I can't imagine myself not being able to run and play sports anymore.

Because I was so desperate to recover again, I contacted a lot of people that I know who do sports and asked them if they had similar injuries. One friend of mine, from the boy's football team in my university, told me about H.E.M. Ankle Rehab. I got a copy 4 days after I got injured. I immediately read and followed what was instructed and felt improvement on the first day. I was able to walk a bit, but I was in pain.

A couple of days after that, the swelling and bruising were subsid-ing significantly and on the fourth day, I was walking comfortably again. Although I've had felt a bit of stiffness, I continued doing what was instructed. My sister was surprised that I have recovered this fast. I told her about this book and was shocked on how effective the procedures were. I'm just so happy that this book was shared to me and how effective it is.

Heal your ankle fully & fast?

I'm sorry to hear about your Tita.

Get that lump checked again: I'm not easy about it continuing to grow. It might not be cancer. But since you have a family history, better safe than sorry.
