our girl has dry itchy skin, no allergies. and no fleas... yes i am sure, and so is her vet, believe me we thouroughly checked..
she does have areas of dry skin,,,,,,
the first soap was oatmeal.. paid almost ten dollars for it, but honestly it smelled like cheap dollar store stuff.. and she was even more itchy..
i tried one at my in-laws house when we were there, it again was almost ten buck, but it had oatmeal, and baking soda, now it smelled really nice, light, and mild... she seemed to be fine after..
well it has been about 2 wks, and she seems to be ithcing really bad again...

any suggestions? she got really filthy and muddy, needs a bath. but any ideas of what to try???

Oatmeal actualy soaks a bit of moisture and oils as it works and is better for acne than dry skin. What are you feeding her? How often do you bathe her? too much bathing can also cause dry skin. Try an egg every other day or 1/2 can of dog food mixed with kibble till it goes away. I have seen these methods work for labs specifically. You can also try adding cooking oils to her food, but contact your vet as to which kind to use as I am no expert.
