Hear the Word
Believe the Word
Admit that you are a sinner
Repent of your sins
Be Baptized
Live a Faithful life
Studt God's Word and you will know the truth. It doesn't miraculousy appear in your head. You have to learn it like everything else.
That's why so many people post so much nonsense in here. They haven't a clue and are to lazy to study, so they make up stuff. Or worse yet, listen to other false teachers and accept what THEY say.
Read the Bible

You become a Christian by praying for Christ Jesus to forgive you and asking him to lead your life.
You know you are hearing the truth when it is directly from the Bible.
YOU should never believe man's word, only God's word.
When it comes to a Bible, you can get a Greek and Hebrew concordance or side by side Greek and Hebrew with English to make sure that the words in translation have not been twisted. There are some of the very recent revised bibles that twist words, I would be careful of that. KJV is okay, a few word errors in translation, but nothing that changes the message. NIV is also pretty good. To be sure, compare original from Torah and dead sea scrolls with the copy you choose with the original language.

Becoming a Christian means having a personal relationship with Christ. It's more than just saying a prayer because you are afraid the Christians might be right, and you might spend eternity in the "smoking section." You must take a step of faith. That's not easy for most people. The Bible is full of verifiable facts, if one wishes to do some sincere research. That alone, is not enough. You could acknowledge the facts in the bible and still have doubts. You have to ask in your prayer that God will soften your heart to feel what you need to feel and believe what you need to believe. Sincerely ask and expect to be answered and you will be. Certainly you will be helped along by reading the bible, and the passages that some here have suggested, even then you have to take a step of faith and believe. Good luck to you, and may God hold you in the palms of His hands!

Read the New Testament on your Bible and that is where the truth is. Don't misunderstand, the Old Testament is true also, but the New Testament tells of God's love and joy. Next, just ask Jesus into your heart and truly mean it. Live a good life and always put God first. I would also like to recommend a wonderful book. It's called "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. I can't think of another book that describes our life with Jesus Christ.

Because God has "made it plain" to you. If you look at a watch, you know that there is a watchmaker. When you look at creation, you know that there is a creator. Think of all the complexities within you. Your eye with all it's light sensative cells and intricate muscles. Could the eye exist with any parts missing. No. Could your body exist if any part were missing? No. I'm not talking about an arm or a leg here. I'm talking about the process of blood clotting, the digestive system, the heart, etc. It has been plain to us that God exists along with His laws. We have violated His laws (His commandments) because God made us to CHOOSE to worship Him. He didn't make robots. Since our lawlessness deserves punishment, God has provided a way for our sin to be punished without punishing us. What an awesome Father that truly loves us and understands us. He came down Himself and took our punishment. The fine has been paid on our behalf to satisfy justice. All you have to do is accept it. If you truly accept it, you will be aware of the things you do that are sinful (violation of His laws) and you will show appreciation for what was done by the work of Jesus Christ on the cross by doing your best to obey His laws. It's called being repentant. And, along with repentance, you will put your trust in Jesus Christ. That He died for OUR sins and rose again on the third day and is alive, petitioning on our behalf.

Lol, Mr. Thram, that was a dumb comment, if you are Christian, then God is pissed at you, lol.
You don't know you're hearing the truth, that's why it's called faith, you have to believe.
All the best

I would not suggest reading the Bible, since that is liable to make you aware of all the inconsistencies and inhuman ideas in it. The best thing is to decide which variety of Christian you want to be and read their religious books. If you compare what the Bible says to just about any established religion you will find a conflict somewhere, so don't do too much research.

You can prove God's Word in 3 ways::
1. Do the word in doctrine and witness truth in your life-
John 7:16-17:
"...'My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If any man is willing to do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from Myself.' "
2. The Holy Spirit will bear witness of Christ (Jesus is the Word of God - John chapter 1)-
John 15:26:
" 'When the Comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness of Me.' "
3. Confirming signs-
Mark 16:20:
"And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the Word by the signs that followed."
as for how to become a christian its easy:

Here is the way of salvation:
John 3: MKJV
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Romans 10: MKJV
9 Because if you confess the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
If you want to go to heaven and be saved all you need to do is to pray and speak the following and believe it in your heart:
"Dear Jesus, I confess and accept you as my Saviour. I believe that you died for my sins. I also believe that God raised you from the dead. Therefore, I believe, I am now saved through faith in what you have done. Lord, I pray this in Your holy name. Amen."
